Our Locums
We have a strong team of highly skilled Locum Pharmacists. We have an excellent reputation for sending good reliable Locums to our customers.

Our hours of operation
We are available daily Monday to Friday 8:00am to 7:00pm for business as usual 8:00am to 11:00am on Saturdays and 24/7 for emergencies. Just call the usual number, 0845 223 5 224, if it is out of hours the call will divert to our emergency line.

The on-line diary
You can request a Locum via our online diary. You can request dates whenever you like. This process is totally under your control. We ask you to provide information such as the number of items, the usual level of support and the services that you provide in your shop(s). This information isn’t visible to anyone; it is just used behind the scenes to select a suitable Locum for your Pharmacy. If you state that you would like a Locum who can provide Repeat Dispensing and MUR (for example) we will make sure that we send someone who is accredited to do them. We keep copies of Locums' certificates on file. Likewise with Enhanced Services; we log the services that Locums can provide, the PCTs in which they are accredited, and we will match this to your requirements.

Information at your fingertips
All the information that you need is at your fingertips, our database holds all the details of your bookings.
You can: -

  • Easily find out who is booked on a particular day.
  • Amend your details as your circumstances change.
  • Choose how you want to be contacted. By email, phone or text message.
  • Take control of your bookings with the online diary.
  • Plan as far ahead as you like. Get next year's holiday booked in now!
  • Request a Locum at any time - the service is available 24/7.
  • Make changes to your bookings; ask us to assist with swaps and cancellations. Please refer to our FAQs page to find out about when you can cancel and when a Locum can cancel on you.

You choose the rate of pay
You can choose how much you would like to pay the Locum and the mileage rate you would like to provide. You can change the rate of pay as market forces fluctuate. You could decide that you would like to pay a higher rate for a busy shop and a lower rate for a quieter shop. At times of high demand you can increase the rate to ensure cover. It is entirely up to you and in your control.

If you have a complaint
In the event of the Locum pharmacist not fulfilling your expectations we will mediate between you and the Locum and facilitate a satisfactory outcome if possible. We maintain a resolution log of any complaints.

Feedback – have your say
We appreciate feedback and have created an on line feedback form should you wish to comment on a Locum that we have sent to you. The feedback can be positive or negative but you can trust that we will take note of your comments. If you ask us to do so we will pass your comments onto the Locum concerned, otherwise they will remain confidential.

Our company policy
Our aim is to give you the certainty of reliable cover when you need it. We won't leave you in the lurch if the Locum doesn't arrive – we will search for a replacement with emergency level priority. (This is a rare occurrence, as we will not work with Locums who prove to be unreliable). We can often arrange for Locums to visit you before you confirm the booking. Our Locums have their own on line diaries so they know where they are meant to be on each day. They have access to the Pharmacy address, parking facilities, telephone number and opening hours.
