As the official office nerd, the last three December’s didn’t just give me the usual Christmas buzz, they gave me the Tolkien buzz!
As a lover of the Lord of the Rings books and the movie franchise, the Christmas period has had an added bonus over the last three years as the world of Elves, Hobbits and Dwarves have been brought back into my life with a 3D bang.
This year saw the end of The Hobbit trilogy and what an end it was given. Although the movies haven’t stayed quite true to the books (like most things to come from Hollywood, its had a bit of a nip and tuck here and there) it has been great to watch middle earth brought back to life again, even with the additions of romance that weren’t in the books. It had great action, comedic value and great acting and it is well worth the ticket price. It ends perfectly to tie in with the beginning of the Lord of the Rings trilogy which is a great excuse to head home and watch them again!
Tears, laughs, gasps and giggles, a great watch in my opinion!
